So I researched message base providers and picked what I think is the safest. Out host has been doing these services for years and they continue to grow current and new services. They are to have two backups of our message base data so it should never be lost.

Naturally nothing is perfectly safe and any company can go out of business or have unforeseen problems but I feel these people will be around for years to come.

Those that have been on the current message for year now know they have had very few down times and when this has happened they are usually on top of any problems right away and the message base is back up ASAP.

I hope this answers any questions you may have.

Fellow Creeker

Bruce

Forum: General Discussion

Part time turbos?

This question is more in regards to big truck turbos than for p/u's. My co-worker said the truck he was driving skipped a couple times. He called our shop and spoke w/the mechanic on duty and his reply was that the turbo "kicks in /out as needed thus creating the skip". For the life of me, I'm scratching my head on this one. Never have I heard of a "part time turbo". Don't think the new emission motors make a difference (mech says it does). Has anyone ever heard of a "part time turbo"? IMO, it's either working, or it's not.
Forum: Towing Vehicles

Noisy furnace

The blower on our furnace is noisy. There is no outside access to the furnace. When I take the grill off under the frig and remove the plate on the furnace it only exposes the burner of the furnace. It looks like you have to remove the furnace to access the blower portion.
Is there a different way to get to the blower portion of the furnace? Without removing the furnace or the frig ? I also don't want to cut a hole to access it from the outside.

If it is to big of a job or it has to go to the dealer then I guess we will just use electric heaters and use the blower only part of the AC to circulate the air.

Forum: Forest River RV Modifications and Self Repairs

Interior walls

It appears that one of the interior walls is comming loose from the wall, bowing out a little in two places right by one of the seams. It looks like the walls may be just glued on wiht a seam tape between the pannels. Does anyone know if this is the way they are attached, if so it looks like a pretty easy fix, but I would have to get some of the seam tape from Cedar Creek to match the interior. Its one of those things that would cost me more to take to the dealership then to do myself....

Forum: Miscellaneous Technical Issues

Veteran's Day 2009

On behalf of all the members in our family, I'd like to write a few words for you all. Sure I like to joke and make fun of things, but this is dear to our hearts.

I won't beat around the bush nor may not be politically correct with some.

While we go about our everyday routines and travels, does one or even our school systems ever stop or teach why we have Veteran's day? We've come to expect that life goes on without ever batting an eyelash for being able to go about our fore mentioned routines, well, quite frankly, freely. How often do we really ever stop to think how we got here or for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice thus allowing us to go about our daily routines? Ask most people and school aged kids and they will probly give you the deer in headlight look in return. Am I being critical? Well, Yes! It bothers me to no end that the education system is more concerned about teaching things that have little use to a person whereas history will live on forever.

So Dear Veterans that are members of our great Cedar Creek RV Club both here in the U.S. and Canada (for you helped us get here too), we would like to express our deepest and most sincerest THANK YOU for your service to our country and for those that paid the ultimate sacrifice, may you realize that not all of us will ever forget what you did and for protecting us and keeping us safe. While some maybe touching the face of God, we await our time to shake your hand and give you a hug and if okay, give you a salute too.

I look around to see what we have and forever grateful for things. Things are just that, things. Being able to walk outside, travel state to state, laugh, talk and yes speak out is more precious than "things" will ever be. So to ALL our Vets, past, present and future, WE salute you and THANK YOU for not only today, but for each and everyday of our lives.

In closing, the last scene from the movie "Space Odyssey 20??", the lines read, "All these worlds our yours to keep except Utopia. Use them in peace. Use them in harmony". May peace be everlasting and major conflicts be a thing of the past for this is what and why we honor our brave Men and Women for they fought to preserve peace for all of mankind. ALL of you are forever in our hearts and prayers each and everyday of the year. Not just 1.

Thank you all.

Sincerely,

Cris, Mike and kids

Forum: VETERANS Area

Possible Delaware and surrounding area Get together possibility

Was think of having a Get together sometime next year if there is some interest in the Delaware, Maryland and who ever would like to make reservations and get together. I was thinking of one of the Delaware State Parks (reservations can be made 7 months in advance online), either Delaware Seashore State Park, or Trap Pond State Park. Both have good and bad points, Trap Pond has water and electric hookups, and can have fires, its wooded sites. Seashore State Park sites are all open pull thru sites right on the inlet, full hookups, no fires, (there is a group fire pit that we may be able to use) about 400 yards from the ocean, and Rehothoth Beach delaware and Ocean City Maryland boardwalks are not far, plus Delaware outlets are close with tax free shopping.
Both fill up pretty fast for the summer months, Seashore really fills up fast for the beach crowd, but reservations can be made 7 months in advance for both parks..

Just a thought, email or post some ideas as to dates (take a long weekend would be good) and either park unless someone has another park in mind...

Mike & Densie
DelawareCamper@aol.com or
WeLoveDisney@aol.com

Forum: CCRVC State Rally Information
