I just was informed that
Applebee's will once again offer a free meal to any Activity, retired or past veteran on Veterans day.
Just bring in some type of proof you are or were a Veteran even a picture of you in uniform.
Check out the Applebee's web site for all the details. http://www.applebees.com/

Reply with quote | #2 | Golden Coral usually does that also. I've gone by there on Veterans day and the line fills the parking lot. It's great that they do that. Doesn't cost them anything and they actually make money on the deal since it brings in more paying customers, wives and children etc. So it's a win win situation. They show their appreciation, Vets get to take the family out to eat for less than it would normally cost, and they make money. As Geroge Peppard used to say on the "A Team" "I love it when a plan comes together." Thanks to Applebes and Golden Coral.
A bit off topic, but along the same lines. I went out to NAS Corpus Christi. I showed my ID to Lady in active duty uniform on duty at the gate thanked me for my service. She's the one doing the DUTY now and she thanked me. Took a moment for me to recover so I could return the thanks to her for serving as well. To me it's odd being thanked because I look at it as having had the PRIVELEGE of serving.

Reply with quote | #3 | I have seen a couple places now advertising FREE meal to Vets on Veterans Day.
I will be in South Carolina and think out in the country but may find some place to get that FREE one?
